Human Resources Department

Mission Statement

The Human Resources & Safety Department is committed to working strategically with each family, every employee and our community, in identifying and responding to its changing needs. In providing these services I am dedicated to clear communication, progressive thinking, and resourceful solutions toward meeting the HCS goals and objectives. I will provide leadership and guidance in the development, implementation, and equitable administration of policies and procedures, thus fostering a positive, Christian work environment.

Vision

The Department is dedicated to unity, equality and fair human relations, with a customer-service mind-set, while enabling all employees to effectively perform their duties of serving our students and each other in a Christian environment. My vision is to serve the changing needs and expectations of: the state of California, the educational system, our Faculty Team and each child (and their family) within our organization. This vision, and my ability to serve, will begin first with Christ.

Objectives

  • To support, value and respect every person's uniqueness, with focus on the goals of: excellence in school through education and administration.
  • Promote and support recruiting strategies and collaborate with departments to create a high performing, diverse workforce
  • Respond to the needs of the HCS community in a Christian, helpful, supportive, and pro-active manner and provide "quality" services on which the community can rely
  • Following the Lord's lead, develop, implement and maintain policies, programs, and services that enrich all employees, encourage growth and opportunity, fostering good, open communication and an overall positive work environment for all
  • Equitably and fairly administer HCS policies, procedures, and benefits, while complying with all State and Federal regulations

HCS Cafe

The Hillcrest Cafe offers a variety of lunch and snack items providing a convenient and affordable alternative to bringing lunch from home. The café is open for morning snacks at 9:30 AM, through lunch, and until 3:45 for after-school snacks.

Snacks and lunch items may be purchased during morning breaks and lunch times. Hot lunches, including drink, may be ordered during homeroom each day.

A menu is sent home at the beginning of the year showing the specific hot lunch items offered each day, along with the a-la-carte selections such as sandwiches, chips, snacks, and drinks. We also offer selections from Quiznos and Pizza Hut daily.

Accounts for Café purchases for each student may be established directly with the Café for $60. Parents will be notified in writing when the balance is low to arrange replenishment. There will be no purchases without cash or a current account.
